The W Family - Omaha Family Photographer

The bulk of my 2012 weddings start tonight so I'm enjoying one last non-busy day until November. I know that sounds like a complaint but it's really very exciting. This is my first year where I'll be shooting without a day job. Last year I about dropped dead mid June. It was insane. Between my two jobs, I was working 60-80 hours a week... with a baby at home. I was overwhelmed to say the least. Knowing that this year is going to be much easier is a huge relief and a huge thrill! A mellow photographer is always a better photographer. :)

Here's a peek back at one of the recent family sessions that happened at the studio...

Christine and Rusty - Omaha Wedding Photographer

Quick note: You have until April 30th to book your sessions for this Spring/Summer at the current rate. Prices will be changing on May 1, 2012.

Christine and Rusty are planning a destination wedding on an island off the coast of Florida. I don't blame them. It was cold, windy and all around unpredictable when we shot their engagement pics last weekend.

Now to convince them to take me with them...

Mike and Lauren's Warm March Wedding - Omaha Wedding Photographer

Lauren and Mike were married in March at the Western Heritage Museum in downtown Omaha. It was one of those rare March days where the sun was shining and it was over 70° outside. The interesting thing about weddings at the Durham is that no two ever shoot the same. The ceremony hall has windows and doors behind it, so depending on the time of day and season of the year, the light in there is completely different. This time, they were practically glowing in the backlighting. I think the wide, white shots of them are so beautiful and unique to their wedding day.

My Family - Omaha Family Photographer

I recently took an afternoon off to spend some time with my family at the zoo. We took Lennon there last summer when he was just a tiny guy. This time was a lot more fun - and a lot more tiring. Chasing an 18 month old all over a gorilla pavilion will wear a lady out!

I've been really bad lately about taking photos of my family. From December until this week, I don't have any photos. That kinda sucks. Don't forget to be taking photos of your families between pro shoots, everyone!
