Ayden's Six Month Photos

Everyone, this is Ayden. Ayden is just about the cutest thing in the world. My proof:

Then he was leaning back in his seat, not paying a whole lot of attention when all of a sudden he sat up and did this.



Like lots of little boys (and not so little boys) I think he likes chillin without his shirt on. He got really excited when it was time to change clothes.



I mean really. Look at this boy. Definitely one of the cutest ever.

Christina and Scott's Wedding

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Christina and Scott's wedding. They were without a doubt two of the nicest people you could ever imagine. Their wedding was a celebration of not only their love, but the love of their families too. The wedding felt so home-grown and authentic. Friends and family helped in almost every aspect of the planning. Flowers, cakes, dinner, the venues, the music, the invitations... I'm sure the list goes on! It was truly one of the sweetest and most fun weddings I've ever attended - both as a guest and a photographer.

Lindsay and Dustin's Wedding Reception

All winter I have really been anticipating the beginning of wedding season. I have been emailing and coordinating with about a dozen brides and grooms and at last these amazing days are here and happening!

I made a comment recently that it can feel weird attending the weddings of people I don't really know. I'm standing next to them, documenting an incredibly memorable day, and I'm pretty much a stranger to them compared to everyone else in the room. A friend replied that it may seem weird, but I get to spend time with these people on one of the happiest days of their lives. Really, what can be a better job than that?

Lindsay and Dustin had their wedding ceremony in Florida prior to coming back to Omaha for a reception, so technically I didn't spend the happiest day of their lives with them. :) Their wedding photos looked so amazing. Beaches, sun, tropical scenery. The day of their reception was warm(ish) but windy. Oh. So. Windy. They did an amazing job though of bringing the tropical vibe back to the reception with them. It was color, flowers, color, flowers, color, color, color. I thought it was all so beautiful!

Delila and Jameson

These two kiddos are Delila and Jameson. We did a shoot for her newborn pictures and his two year pictures. Mom and dad are going to have a handful with two birthdays so close together! How much fun is that though?



I'm never sure whether the baby smiles I catch are genuine smiles or just a lucky shot of a baby making a face. I prefer to think of them as real smiles. Because it's cuter that way. :)

Addison's 3 Month Photos

Geeeeeez! That break seemed like an eternity! I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted a session. I (along with everyone else in the Midwest) am utterly joyful for this winter to be O-V-E-R. Now, everything just needs to hurry up and turn green.

I recently went back for Addison's three month photos. How this kids grow. I tell ya. When I walked in, Addison smiled at me and was in a generally cheerful baby mood. Then the camera came out. Cheerful turned into sleepy and if there's anything babies are experts at it's sleeping when you want them to not be sleeping. We carried on regardless. She's just as cute sleeping as she is awake, so all-in-all she still did a good job.

Korrine and Kendall at the Zoo

I finally worked up the courage to buy a new camera. It makes me physically ill to think of spending lots of money at once. I'm perfectly fine making a series of small purchases... For example, three $40 trips to Target in one day? Totally okay. Spending $120 at once? Not okay. So for me to go into a store and intentionally - in one sitting - spend what I feel is a moderately large sum of money... It made my palms sweat. But boy oh boy, was it worth it. There's nothing like a brand new camera getup to make me feel like running out and photographing everything I possibly can.

So, I went to the zoo with Brooke and her girls, Korrine and Kendall, and we did just that. In the snow. The zoo, in the snow, in February. But you know what? It was so breathtakingly beautiful. Everyone should go to the zoo while it's snowing.



I also have to add that you have not seen the zoo until you have seen it with two four-year-olds. My. Goodness. If only adults were capable of having 1/10 the amount of fun that children always manage to have. There was running, jumping, twirling, patty-caking.

So much fun.

Jeremy's Headshots

Jeremy came to me needing some new headshots and promos to hand out at bookings. Or for bookings. Or to booking agents. Or whatever you do with headshots. The world of theatrical talent is a mystery to me, as I have none myself. The closest I've ever come to "acting" was when my sister-in-law (a talent agent) secretly sent my info in to a client and booked me for a commercial. She waited until I agreed to it to inform me that I would be wearing a giant flea costume. Yes, I was a flea. A militant, college activist flea. A flea with a lip ring.

Umm...

Let's start over, ok?

Jeremy came to me needing some new headshots and promos to hand out at bookings. I really loved Jeremy. We had met years before through a mutual friend so it was nice to hang out with some prior knowledge of one another. (Kind of takes the edge off.) He was pretty frank about the session, saying he only really needed two legit headshots and the rest to the time we could just have fun and be creative. A talented actor, dancer, model and free reign to do whatever I wanted? Sign me up! Oh wait, I was signed up already! Score!!!
